The Armenian Evangelical Pastors' Wives Committee in Lebanon organized a conference on “Addictions and Social Misbehavior”. The conference took place in Dhour Chouier, Lebanon, May 27-29, 2010. Fourteen pastors from Lebanon and Syria along with their wives participated in this conference.
The main concerns that were addressed in the Conference were Addictions (Drugs, Alcohol, etc) and Social Issues (Abuse, Homosexuality, Piercing and tattoos).
The church will more and more face issues related to drugs, alcohol and other behavioral problems (especially among the juniors and the youth),
- How much do we know about these issues?
- How can we prevent and what can we do about it?
- How does our Christian faith transform those who are into these addictions and how can we act?
- Is there a way to prevent these addictions?
Four presenters: Father Marwan Ghanem, Dr. Raed Mohsen, Miss Anie Boujikanian and Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian addressed these questions and gave live examples from their immediate ministries.
The conference was funded by the Fellowship of the Least Coin – ecumenical movement.
We pray for all those who are inflicted with any of the above mentioned addictive acts. May God restore their faith and transform their lives to live “life” decently and walk in His path. |
